Class: Cleveland, OH 16-19 March 2016 . The atmosphere was great for all levels to learn. I was lucky that they were coming to my state but I was considering taking a small vacation to travel to a location. I will probably take another class or two during my clinicals to refresh basic procedures. The amount of info covered is amazing. Everyone had a chance to practice the skills without feeling rushed. I feel like I learned so much, and even though I don't feel 100% comfortable doing everything yet, this has made me more confident to just jump in and that it's not as hard as it looks once I do it several times! I was a participant in the 2 days skills workshop last week end (2/26-2/27) in Carlsbad, Ca. I had my first patient with complaint of foreign body in eye. I did not panic. I remembered everything we discussed including documentation of eyelid eversion, drawing picture of eye and location of foreign body. Prior to this course, I would have been in an absolute panic. I learned so much in the 4 days of courses I just completed in Palm Springs. The best part is that I will take back what I learned and start using it immediately. The hands on portion was extremely helpful as I am a "hands on" learner but I loved having the didactic portion as well to look back on for guidance if I need it. Took the 2 day course in Atlanta, Ga. my only regret was not being able to attend all of the classes! Great instructors, hands on training. An amazing experience, I spent 3 days with 2 instructors and they were worth every dollar. As a new nurse practitioner the lack of skills taught in school is intimidating. I love how thoroughly Dr. Chase explains everything thing. She is efficient but covers all of the material we need to know.
